Project overview

Mondona’s journey with natural and healthy foods starts in Italy by Maximilian and Alexander Feulner where the company starts selling all-natural, organic, and truly healthy products that are uniquely dried so to become the perfect, easy-to-eat addition to every balanced nutrition plan.

Challenges:

Mondona’s brand and e-commerce website was built with Italy in mind, but later as the company started growing the European market opened up for business. The task at hand for Ogno was to re-think the website and brand guidelines and create an e-shop that can accommodate the European market in a multilingual and multi shipping premise. This meant that many UX but also technical issues were there to be tackled and thats exactly what we did.

Project execution

Website Design and Development:

We started by diving into market research of competitors and similar companies and how they position them selves into the European market. We then refurbished the brand and colors in a way that made sense for a multicultural user level. Once these were in place we started designing the website with a strong focus on product presentation, company ethos, principles and story. Our biggest challenge was to create a custom Wordpress theme with an intuitive CMS so that Mondona could easily update their website’s content after finalization of the project.

Custom theme and 3rd party plugins:

We always prefer developing websites with custom code rather than opting for ready-made Wordpress templates. This gives us the freedom to design exactly the websites we want to put out into the web. By custom coding the themes ourselves we get significant more control over the outcome and our websites perform better on Google ranking, loading speeds, and safety. For Mondona we used WooCommerce to build everything on, of course with a lot of customization on top. After the website was finished and all the shipping providers and dynamic pricing and payment systems through Stripe, based on the country of visit were in place, our new Mondona website was ready to launch.

Project results

Google approved:

The day of the launch our website scored exceptionally high on Google ranking and website tests, with performance speed of 89, accessibility rating of 92, best practices of 88 and SEO at 92

Brand & UI recognition:

As the new UI started getting tested we received excellent feedback from small focus groups on usability and accessibility scores of over 93% by the interviewees.

Overall Impact:

Mondona now is at a growth stage with multi European countries under their list of serving clients such as Italy, Germany, France, Spain and more to come as the company now has the base to grow without re-inventing the wheel every time. The new CMS is extremely easy to use so the company can update content and add new markets themselves without the need for new developers to step in and assist them. This freed up a lot of time for the company's management and marketing team to focus on things that really matter.

Follow-up or Next Steps

As we continue to monitor and optimize the website, the next steps include exploring additional advertising platforms, further refining audience segments, and introducing seasonal campaigns to capitalize on peak interest periods.
